Figurative sculpture
Andrian has been creating figurative sculptures in a range of mediums, from bronze, marble and stone to painted plaster and ceramic, for over thirty years. His figurative work draws on his classical training but reflects his own unique style that combines naturalistic details with an impressionistic finish. Modelling in clay on a wire armature before casting or firing in a kiln, the sculptures are created entirely by hand, using traditional methods, without the use of 3D scanners and printers.
His recent figurative sculptures are inspired by photographing dancers from The Royal Ballet and focus on the precision of ballet dancers' gestures and posture. The portfolio below showcases a selection of his sculptures available for purchase.
